Anuradhapura is a major city located in north central plain of Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of North Central Province, Sri Lanka and the capital of Anuradhapura District. Attraction in Sri Lanka - Sri Padaya / Adam's Peak

Sri Pada or Adam's Peak is an ancient pilgrimage site, which has long attracted thousands of pilgrims from all faiths.   Adam's Peak  is a 2,243 m (7,359 ft) tall conical  mountain  located in central Sri Lanka . It is well known for the  Sri Pada  "sacred footprint", which in  Buddhist tradition is held to be the footprint of the Buddha,  in Hindu  tradition that of Hanuman or Shiva   "Mountain of Shiva 's Light", and in some Islamic  and Christian  traditions that of Adam , or that of St. Thomas. That's why Adam's peak famous all aver the world. When you travel to Adam's peak there are many possible hiking routes to take  Hatton – Nallathanni route is the most popular trail to the summit of Sri Pada or Adam's peak.
